At 54003 miles is is not covered under warranty and it is longer than the 1 year parts replacement. Does chevy have an expected life for the sensor?

It seems crazy to have to replace a $200+ part every 10,000 miles or so. I would much rather pay a few hundred for the sensor versus close to a thousand.
